“Strange as it may seem, if the Story says that a list of items on a screen will be shown counting from 1 to 10 (instead of 0 to 9), the customer is actually expecting to see a '1' on the screen as the first number when the finished product is finally delivered. Not a zero.”
Especially for screen based applications, if you are not meticulous the first time, another developer will have to come back and fix the work, decreasing your net worth to the team. If you say you have completed a job, it should be completed with no loose ends – fully tested and checked in. It is your reputation at stake. The truly meticulous developers are few and they are always remembered.
